Inauguration Party

On Wednesday November 7th we had our Inauguration Party to celebrate the election of our class officers. (I will post the results in the next few day as well as some video.) For this celebration we had the pleasure of having some special guests visit the classroom and join us in this important day. They came and sang patriotic songs and danced with the students. One of the guests that joined us had a fantastic story to share with the students. Jim Pollock who is a banjo player has played for 6 different Presidents of the United States. The students were in awe of his playing the banjo and his story. We had a great time and the students we full of laughs. By clicking the picture below you can check out the photo gallery of the event. Thank you to all that came and help out at this event. For me it was truly an awesome over powering experience.

Class Election

On November 6th while we are going to the polls to vote for our countries elected offices our class will be going to the polls as well. We will not be voting for the President of the United States but rather the President of our classroom as well as a few other positions. Each student is required to run for an elected position in class. The students must write a speech, produce a poster, as well as create some type of campaign memorabilia. The students will present their speeches to the class on either October 29th or the 30th. A more exact schedule will follow in the coming days. Please refer to the calendar at the top of this page for exact due dates of all assignments. Parents are invited to the presentation days.

Start of the Year

Well it has been a crazy start to the year. With trainings and new students and testing we have been going crazy just to stay ahead. Over the next few days things will start to settle down and we will get into a normal routine. You have all been doing a pretty good job holding things together. There are somethings we will need to work on but I am confident that this will come when class settles down a bit. Keep working hard.

First Day

I had a great time today meeting all of the new students in our classroom. We have some awesome personalities. I can already tell this is going to be a great year. The students worked pretty hard today and it was only day 1. I want to remind all the students to practice their multiplication as it is very important for our math program. Remember to check out the homework section to make sure you completed all of the assignments tonight.

I look forward to seeing what comes next with this group of students. Again great job everyone!!
